These beads were crafted using Lion King frit from FritHeaven.com, resulting in delightful outcomes. The base glass interacted uniquely with the colors, lending each bead its distinct charm. The Lion King blend proved to be a captivating mix, boasting a rich array of colors with magenta, purple, and gold taking center stage. It's a playful blend that adds vibrancy and depth to any design.

The base glass colors used here were:

  • Periwinkle
  • Yellow Brick Road
  • Orange
  • Bubblegum Pink
  • Turquoise
  • White

The orange base did not play as well as expected and darkened some of the colors. The colors that worked best were white, pink, and pale yellow. There are nice reactions with the turquoise and periwinkle but these did mute the pink quite a bit.

In this set, I chose to encase the Lion King frit within the glass—a technique that never fails to yield fascinating results. It's truly remarkable how the colors transform when encased compared to when they're applied on the surface. I discovered that using the frit sparingly brings out the most vibrant hues; an excess can obscure the colors' brilliance. The combination of purples and blues takes center stage in this design, with delicate accents of pink and yellow adding depth and contrast. To enhance the overall sparkle, I incorporated gold aventurine—a touch that adds a mesmerizing shimmer to the beads. You really can never have too much sparkle in beads!

I have really enjoyed the frit blends I received from FritHeaven. They are a newer source of frit which is nice since ValCox has less available frit now. I also thought the owner, Lori Gallo, was super nice when I asked questions about a particular blend. Shop all our lampwork beads
